About the Role

Daikin Saudi is seeking a Deputy Project Director – HVAC to lead project execution excellence across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of HVAC projects, ensuring profitability, client satisfaction, and adherence to global standards.

Role Overview and Strategic Direction

The Deputy Project Director – HVAC is responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and execution of Daikin Saudi's projects business. This role encompasses the full project lifecycle, from sales handover through execution to final closeout. Key objectives include scaling the projects organization, strengthening governance, and embedding best-in-class project management practices aligned with Daikin's global standards. The role is instrumental in driving operational excellence and ensuring profitable, on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the national project execution strategy to meet business objectives and profitability targets.
• Establish and enforce standardized project management frameworks, governance models, and operating procedures.
• Oversee the nationwide project portfolio, ensuring effective prioritization and resource allocation.
• Manage major programs including chiller replacements, HVAC retrofits, VRV systems, and turnkey EPC projects.
• Own full P&L responsibility for the projects division, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost control.
• Standardize execution methodologies across all regions to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and support staff.
• Act as the executive point of contact for key clients, consultants, and government stakeholders.
• Establish and implement robust project risk management frameworks and ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure structured project closeout, including documentation and financial reconciliation, and drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews.

Leadership and Team Development

This role requires strong leadership to build and develop a high-performing team. You will foster a culture of accountability and performance excellence, identify capability gaps, and implement targeted training and succession planning. Collaboration across sales, engineering, procurement, and service teams will be crucial for success.

Financial and Commercial Acumen

The Deputy Project Director will have full P&L responsibility for the projects division. This includes driving revenue growth, improving margins, and controlling costs. Responsibilities extend to approving and monitoring project budgets and forecasts, leading contract management, and strengthening cash flow through effective financial practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, specifically within the HVAC sector. Experience in managing diverse project portfolios, including chiller replacements, retrofits, VRV systems, and EPC projects, is essential. A strong understanding of project governance, financial management, risk mitigation, and team leadership is required.
