Director Finance & Business Support

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director Finance & Business Support to lead the Finance Team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing all financial aspects of the hotel’s operations, ensuring adherence to local and corporate policies, and supervising the daily operations of the Finance office. The Director will drive the company’s financial strategy and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the hotel’s annual budget, prepare and present financial statements and reports, and provide financial forecasts for strategic decisions.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to operational teams to enhance performance and implement cost control measures to maintain profitability.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards, and identify and manage financial risks associated with hotel operations.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative environment, and provide training and support on financial processes and systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for revenue growth and evaluate potential investment opportunities and their financial implications.
• Communicate financial performance and strategies to stakeholders, including owners and management, and work closely with other departments to ensure alignment on financial objectives.

Duties and Functions

• Direct and coordinate all activities of accounting personnel, including preparing management reports, financial statements, and related accounting reports.
• Oversee the receiving, storing, issuing, accounting for, and controlling the cost of food, beverage, general supplies, operating equipment, and fixed assets.
• Manage the requisition of equipment, materials, and supplies; handle the receiving, keeping, depositing, investing, and disbursing of funds.
• Prepare, control, and maintain all vouchers and cheques, process credit applications, and audit all hotel revenue reports.
• Ensure all accounting reports and financial statements comply with the uniform system of accounts for the hotel, and ensure accurate and timely submission of all accounting reports, financial statements, and tax returns.
• Collaborate with management and department heads on budgets and forecasts, maintain budget control procedures, and analyze financial statements.
• Maintain proper control systems and procedures, conduct continuous audits of hotel accounts, records, and transactions, and implement credit and collection policies.
• Ensure the maintenance of ledgers and subsidiary records for appropriations, expenditures, inventories, accounts receivables, accounts payables, operating equipment, and fixed assets.
• Supervise receiving, storing, and issuing functions to ensure proper procedures and controls, and assist department heads with budget preparation and feasibility studies.
• Maintain accounting machines and equipment, and foster good relations with banks and government entities for financial and regulatory matters.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in finance, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and risk management.
