About the Director, Risk Role
Qiddiya | القدية is seeking a Director, Risk to support the analysis of data from Subdistricts and Projects within one of its largest Business Units. This role will provide the Senior Director – Risk with essential assurance and compliance analysis to inform business unit leadership. The position reports directly to the Senior Director – Risk and requires extensive experience in managing risk for large-scale programs and projects. The Director will be adept at communicating complex information to executive management and ensuring timely dissemination of relevant data.
Core Responsibilities
The Director, Risk is responsible for the implementation and oversight of Subdistrict and Portfolio Risk Management within the EBU, ensuring the quality of all risk management activities. This includes assisting in the development and implementation of consistent Risk Management tools, techniques, processes, and standards, aligned with QIC’s policies and procedures. The role also involves embedding key performance indicators (KPIs) for risk reporting and supporting the professional development of risk resources across the EBU.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Championing QIC's "Safety First" value, including the authority to enact ‘Stop Work’ orders and adherence to health, safety, and well-being standards.
- Role-modeling leadership behaviors in line with Qiddiya Values.
- Supporting the development of a robust risk culture within integrated Development and Delivery project teams.
- Participating in the implementation of Risk Management policies, processes, procedures, and controls at the Subdistrict level.
- Contributing to the EBU N-1 Risk Management cycle through risk identification, evaluation, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting, utilizing input from the Subdistrict / Project N-2 level.
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Management processes at the Subdistrict level.
- Assisting in embedding risk performance KPIs within the EBU's risk reporting platforms.
- Providing guidance and consultative advice to the Business to enable risk-informed decision-making.
- Assisting in policy and compliance audits, including liaison with internal and external auditors.
- Coordinating with other functional leads and key project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess a Degree level education, supplemented by equivalent training and experience. A minimum of 15 years of previous experience is required, including at least 5 years in leadership positions within Development and Delivery portfolios. Proficiency in standard IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet) is essential, alongside a high level of proficiency with Risk Management Systems such as ARM, Safran Risk, or Risk Hive.

- Experience in producing portfolio and programme level reports.
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to plan and agree activities across diverse stakeholders.

- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent knowledge of Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Management methodologies and processes.
- Previous experience in leadership Risk roles within PMO / PMC organizations.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- A degree in risk management or a similar field is preferred, as is a Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management or similar.
- Membership of a professional Risk association (*, IRM, RMIA) is advantageous.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province.
