The Role of Electrical Site Engineer

Elsewedy Electric is seeking an Electrical Site Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is crucial for the 132 kV UGC project, focusing on the daily inspection and coordination of HV cable installation, jointing, and termination activities. The Electrical Site Engineer will support the Site Manager in ensuring the efficient execution, quality, and progress of electrical works, contributing to the achievement of project milestones and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect daily HV cable installation, jointing, and termination activities for the 132 kV UGC project according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and safety standards.
• Support the Site Manager in site execution, productivity, quality, and progress of the electrical scope of works.
• Assist in planning and managing daily, weekly, and monthly electrical site activities to achieve project milestones and approved schedules.
• Monitor the electrical works schedule, identify delays/constraints, and report and support recovery actions where required.
• Coordinate the cable installation subcontractor's crews, including manpower, equipment, productivity, work fronts, and performance.
• Coordinate with utility owners, consultants, and relevant stakeholders on electrical interface requirements.
• Follow up permits, approvals, and inspections related to electrical site activities, and support authority coordination as required.
• Coordinate electrical construction interfaces with civil works, joint bays, cable trenches, ducts, link boxes, earthing, testing, and reinstatement activities.
• Verify the availability and conformity of cables, joints, accessories, and other electrical materials against specifications and approved quantities.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly site reports covering electrical progress, manpower, equipment, quantities, and constraints.
• Monitor actual electrical progress against planned progress and report accurate measurements and forecasts to the Site Manager.
• Coordinate with the team on progress measurement, subcontractor quantities, and supporting documentation for the electrical scope.
• Review subcontractor progress claims for the electrical scope against actual site progress and approved quantities.
• Identify and report potential variations, additional works, and delays affecting the electrical scope for proper documentation.
• Attend regular coordination meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders and follow up on action items related to electrical works.
• Resolve electrical site technical issues in coordination with engineering, planning, QA/QC, HSE, and project management teams.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, approved method statements, quality procedures, and project specifications for electrical works.
• Coordinate electrical inspections, testing, commissioning activities, punch-list clearance, and as-built documentation.
• Maintain effective communication with the Site Manager, project management, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Provide the Site Manager with timely updates on electrical progress, risks, delays, manpower, and resource needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in 132 kV underground cable projects is mandatory.
