About the Engineering Manager Role

Doka, a global leader in formwork solutions and scaffolding systems, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Engineering function in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Advanced Formwork Co. Ltd., the distributor and service provider for Doka products in Saudi Arabia, is expanding nationally and invites a career-driven professional to join its team. This senior leadership role is responsible for managing and developing high-performing engineering teams, delivering safe, practical, and cost-effective formwork solutions, and supporting complex projects across the Kingdom. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Engineering Manager will drive technical excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing, collaborating closely with Sales, Project Managers, and site teams. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in formwork engineering, proven people leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. This role is suited for a senior engineering leader with strong people-management and customer-facing capabilities, comfortable working in a multicultural Middle East environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate engineering teams across multiple projects.
• Implement economical and practical formwork solutions to meet team and company objectives.
• Provide strong leadership and actively promote knowledge sharing and engineering training/development for the project team.
• Supervise project deadlines and milestones.
• Produce, review, and approve formwork designs, material lists, offer drawings, and shop drawings.
• Conduct and review advanced static calculations and structural verifications.
• Ensure formwork solutions are safe, practical, and cost-effective.
• Provide technical guidance and resolution for complex engineering and site issues.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Teams, and Formwork Instructors on technical issues.
• Assist the Sales Team with technical input, client presentations, and site support.
• Lead customer interactions, including meetings, workshops, and site visits, to communicate engineering proposals, clarify requirements, and deliver technical presentations.
• Coordinate engineering resource allocation with the Head of Engineering – Country.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, engineering procedures, and performance standards.
• Monitor compliance with contractual, statutory, and safety requirements.
• Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices across projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in the formwork engineering industry, preferably within Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams and multi-project environments.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar managerial positions, including leading an engineering function (*, Engineering Head) in the formwork field.
• Strong knowledge of formwork systems and engineering principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (2D & 3D) and project management tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset.
• Willingness to travel as per business requirements.
