About the Role

YO IT Consulting is seeking an English Language Expert for a contract role. In this hourly, remote position, you will review AI-generated English language responses and generate expert language content. Your work will involve evaluating reasoning quality, performing step-by-step edits, and providing precise, actionable feedback to improve AI models.

Company and Role Context

This role is with a fast-growing AI Data Services company that provides AI training data for major AI companies and foundation-model labs. Your language expertise will directly contribute to enhancing the accuracy, naturalness, and clarity of leading AI models. While there is no immediate project for this role, qualified candidates will be among the first contacted when relevant opportunities arise, and will gain access to future projects through the company's expert network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by creating detailed prompts and responses across various topics to ensure AI models demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of diverse subjects.
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating and ranking AI responses to improve model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Ensure model integrity by testing AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases and validating their reliability across different use cases.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Expert command of English (C2/Native-level preferred), with a minimum C1 English proficiency required.
• Multilingual ability, with professional proficiency in at least one additional language, is strongly preferred.
• Strong skills in grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and stylistic editing across various registers.
• Exceptional attention to detail for identifying meaning drift, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle errors, with the ability to clearly explain corrections in writing.
• Comfort in applying style guides and enforcing consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization across varied content types.
• Previous experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience using tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and others.

Work Environment and Expectations

This is an hourly, remote contract position. Candidates must be reliable, self-directed, and capable of delivering consistent quality within a remote contractor workflow across different time zones.
