Event Manager

About the Role

PROVEN is seeking an Event Manager for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end delivery of large-scale event venues and live event environments for a client operating in the esports and live entertainment industry. The Event Manager will contribute to creating engaging visitor experiences through innovative event planning and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of designated event venues or sites, from initial planning and development through build and operational readiness.
• Oversee all venue-related workstreams, ensuring effective coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Manage venue delivery teams and coordinate closely with landlords, building operators, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
• Develop and maintain detailed delivery programmes, project schedules, critical paths, milestones, and readiness plans.
• Prepare and maintain programme documentation, readiness reports, and supporting evidence to demonstrate venue preparedness.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delivery challenges, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines and operational standards.
• Coordinate construction, fit-out, infrastructure, technical installations, and operational preparations to ensure venues are ready for event delivery.
• Ensure alignment between venue requirements, event operations, production, safety, security, and other relevant functions.
• Lead stakeholder meetings, track action items, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues affecting venue readiness.
• Oversee venue inspections, readiness reviews, and pre-opening activities to confirm that all essential requirements have been met.
• Support the successful delivery of live events by ensuring venues are prepared to operate at the required scale and standard.
• Apply lessons learned from previous event seasons to improve planning, coordination, and delivery efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in event management, venue delivery, or large-scale live event operations.
• Experience working across at least two live event seasons.
• Demonstrated personal responsibility for delivering a named venue or site end-to-end, including planning, build, and operational readiness, for an event of comparable scale.
• Proven experience overseeing multiple disciplines and workstreams across an entire venue, rather than managing only one specialist function.
• Previous experience leading venue teams and coordinating with landlords, building operators, and relevant authorities.
• Demonstrated ability to personally develop and manage delivery programmes, critical paths, and documented evidence of operational readiness.
• Experience delivering large-scale events, esports competitions, entertainment events, festivals, or similarly complex live environments is highly desirable.
