Financial Controller

About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and management within a specific division, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall financial strategy. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and involves providing financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation guidance to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop financial strategies that support business growth and sustainability.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Monitor key financial metrics and business performance, analyzing variances and recommending actions to improve margins and cost efficiency.
• Provide financial insights for pricing, investments, and operational decisions, including building business cases and conducting scenario modeling.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and ensure optimal allocation of financial resources.
• Maintain strong internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with audit, tax, and legal teams to manage financial risks.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

• Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers to create a robust second line of management.
• Address low performance through guidance or necessary action, ensuring fair treatment of subordinates based on performance.
• Ensure the availability of a delegation of authority matrix in line with company policy.

Operational Accountability

• Take full responsibility for operations as per the job description and deliverables, adhering to company guidelines.
• Anticipate problems and take proactive steps to prevent them, making timely and proper decisions.

Business Planning and Development

• Transform corporate goals into business plans, and effectively plan, follow up, and execute annual and development plans.
• Monitor plan performance, initiate actions to strengthen results, and take corrective measures.
• Provide periodic work progress reports and control budgets and expenses for optimum cost efficiency.
• Develop the organizational structure based on current and future requirements.
• Ensure the availability and deployment of job descriptions for all roles.
• Develop and coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities.
• Navigate and promote IT solutions relevant to the job and business, fostering a culture of automated system usage.
