Job Description

About the Role

The Management Recruitment Group (MRG) is seeking an experienced Interior Designer for a client, a Real Estate Development company, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves joining an in-house technical services team to support the delivery of residential apartment and hotel projects. The role requires a technically strong interior design professional capable of managing consultants, coordinating complex packages, and maintaining consistent quality across multiple concurrent projects.

Role Context and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Lead Architect, the Interior Designer will review external consultants’ submissions, guide revisions, and ensure interior design packages meet project briefs, brand standards, and operational requirements. This role is crucial for ensuring designs are technically coordinated, buildable, and delivered within agreed programs. The position carries technical review responsibility for external consultants’ work, with no direct line reports. The role is predominantly office-based, with site visits required according to project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review interior design consultant submissions from concept through schematic and detailed design, including drawings, specifications, and FF&E packages for residential apartment and hotel projects.
  • Issue clear technical comments and follow up with consultants to ensure revisions are incorporated accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Assess design packages for technical quality, completeness, and compliance with project briefs, brand standards, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate interior design with architectural, MEP, joinery, and fit-out packages, identifying and resolving clashes, gaps, and interface issues.
  • Identify design decisions that could affect cost, program, or buildability and escalate risks to the Lead Architect.
  • Manage consultant deliverables and track outstanding design reviews, revisions, and coordination matters across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support multidisciplinary design reviews and clash detection, ensuring interior design requirements are integrated into wider project documentation.
  • Coordinate responses to site requests for information (RFIs), working closely with the Lead Architect, consultants, and construction teams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date interior design drawing and document registers within Procore.
  • Review hotel operator and tenant design submissions for compliance with project design guidelines and operational requirements.
  • Provide technical input on FF&E, materials, finishes, and fit-out specifications to support quality, functionality, and coordinated delivery.
  • Liaise with construction, commercial, cost control, leasing, and property management teams to resolve design matters and support informed decisions.
  • Contribute to early-stage feasibility assessments, including interior design scope, standards, and indicative costs.
  • Attend site visits as required to support the resolution of interior design and coordination issues.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in interior design, specifically within residential and hospitality sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage consultants and coordinate complex design packages.
  • Strong technical understanding of interior design principles and construction processes.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary, an annual performance bonus, medical insurance, and air tickets. The role provides an opportunity to influence the quality and delivery of residential and hospitality interiors within an in-house design and engineering function, translating design intent into technically robust, coordinated packages.
