Jr. Operations Engineer

About the Role

Enova by Veolia is seeking a Jr. Operations Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operations, maintaining high client satisfaction, and supporting the achievement of business objectives. The position requires 2 to 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Jr. Operations Engineer plays a vital role in overseeing operational activities, from controlling service reports to managing client and supplier contracts. This position involves ensuring prompt client response times, designing high-level electrical drawings, and understanding project controls, cost estimates, and manpower requirements for various proposals and projects. The incumbent will contribute to maintaining high customer satisfaction and help achieve Enova’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day operations and control service reports delivered to clients.
• Prepare and follow up on client quotations, as well as client and supplier contracts.
• Ensure timely response from the team to client requests.
• Design high-level electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• Understand project controls, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to team leaders, supervisors, and technicians.
• Assign and coordinate work for operational teams, including planning, scheduling, and conducting engineering projects.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure systems operate properly and safely, diagnose and fix faults, and carry out planned maintenance.
• Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and other data to plan and maintain installations.
• Direct and/or participate in job site visits for service collection or delivery.
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
• Direct and coordinate small installations, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities.
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, specifications, and safety standards.
• Provide technical assistance to field personnel regarding low/medium voltage distribution equipment and motors/generators.
• Respond to and provide technical assistance for electrical equipment problems within client facilities.
• Issue repair reports for critical jobs to ensure proper historical documentation.
• Identify and implement engineered resolutions for recurring electrical issues.
• Improve plant and equipment reliability through historical trending and enhanced maintenance procedures.
• Lead and participate in Failure Analysis and Vulnerability studies, and execute equipment maintenance strategies.
• Prepare timely and accurate departmental statements and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in operations engineering or a related field.
• Broad knowledge of applying engineering principles to plant and building operations and maintenance.
• Ability to perform assignments independently, seeking guidance from the Department Manager on unusual or complex problems.
• Commitment to maintaining professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and participation in professional societies.

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSEQ) Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls.
• Issue and send incident reports to the HSEQ department in a timely manner.
• Support HSEQ staff in investigating incidents and finalizing/updating Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA).
• Implement risk control measures identified from HIRA.
• Conduct toolbox and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) training as required.
• Prepare the yearly schedule for toolbox and SOP training with HSEQ support.
• Ensure relevant emergency tests are conducted.

Additional Duties

The Jr. Operations Engineer will also undertake other related duties or assignments as directed by management, contributing to the overall operational efficiency and success of Enova by Veolia.
