About the Junior Staff Accountant Role

Routech Company is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join its finance team in Riyadh. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of accounting experience, including recent graduates with a strong academic background. The role involves supporting daily accounting operations within the logistics sector, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and contributing to the efficient financial functioning of the company's supply chain and logistics activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recording day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Processing and verifying invoices, freight bills, customs documentation, and vendor payments related to logistics operations.
  • Reconciling bank statements, supplier accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports, cost analyses, and budget tracking for transportation, warehousing, and shipping costs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of fixed assets, fuel expenses, and fleet-related costs.
  • Assisting with VAT filing and ensuring compliance with ZATCA regulations.
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Coordinating with operations and procurement teams to verify costs associated with shipments, customs clearance, and warehousing.
  • Maintaining organized digital and physical financial filing systems.
  • Assisting senior accountants with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience; fresh graduates with a strong academic background will be considered.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and Saudi VAT regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data reconciliation.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, written and spoken.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment with tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of logistics and freight cost structures, including freight, customs duties, and demurrage.
  • Exposure to ERP systems commonly used in supply chain finance.
  • Pursuing or holding a professional certification such as SOCPA, CMA, or similar is beneficial.
