About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lead Engineer - Instrumentation to join our team. This full-time position is based at a project site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing and executing engineering activities related to instrumentation and automation for Solar PV Power Plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the development of BIM 3D Models for PV Solar Power Plants.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including Civil/Structural, Electrical, and MEP, for inter-departmental checks.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the full project cycle, from pre-bid engineering to commissioning and warranty periods.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents, aligned with the project schedule.
  • Review drawings prepared by Design Engineers and Draughts Persons.
  • Check design and sizing calculations for engineering electrical equipment and obtain client approvals.
  • Review vendor deliverables pertaining to engineering.
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements.
  • Review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and submit them to the contracts team, providing technical clarifications.
  • Provide support and clarifications to the Site Execution team.
  • Conduct pre-award evaluation of vendors based on technical specifications and forward validation documents to Supply Chain Management.
  • Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after submission of validation documents.
  • Clarify design and client requirement issues with the Site Execution Team.
  • Collect project details from the client and Project Engineering Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to communicate design specifications for obtaining approvals.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Experience required: 5-10 years.
  • Capability to multitask and deliver multiple tasks on time.

Project Context

This role is integral to the engineering and execution of Solar PV Power Plant projects. The Lead Engineer - Instrumentation will be a key contributor to ensuring the successful design, implementation, and support of instrumentation and automation systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Work Location and Type

The position is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time role.
