Lead Field inspector Façade and Envelope

About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Lead Field Engineer – Façade and Envelope to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves overseeing the design, installation, and quality assurance of façade and building envelope systems on complex construction projects. The role requires a professional with strong technical expertise, decisive leadership, and analytical problem-solving capabilities to ensure all work meets international standards, local regulations, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field engineering activities for façade and envelope systems, including curtain walls, glazing, and weatherproofing installations.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and project managers to integrate façade systems seamlessly with overall building construction.
• Conduct detailed technical analysis of façade designs and specifications, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
• Manage quality control inspections and testing protocols to ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
• Oversee installation procedures and provide technical guidance to field teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including as-built drawings, inspection reports, and performance data.
• Analyze and troubleshoot façade-related challenges, developing effective corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Collaborate with design teams to optimize façade performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with the Saudi Building Code and other applicable local and international regulations.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets related to façade and envelope work, reporting progress to senior management.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and field staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in field engineering, specifically with façade and building envelope systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in curtain walls, glazing, and weatherproofing installations.
• Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians.
• Strong understanding of international standards, local regulations, and project specifications related to building façades.
• Analytical problem-solving capabilities and a detail-oriented approach.
