About the Role

ADFAR Tech is seeking a Liferay Developer & Solution Architect to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site position for a professional with over 7 years of experience in Liferay development and solution architecture. The role involves leading the technical architecture and design of Liferay DXP-based digital platforms.

Role Overview

The Liferay Developer & Solution Architect will be responsible for guiding the technical direction and implementation of Liferay DXP solutions. This includes defining architectural strategies, ensuring robust platform design, and overseeing technical governance across various aspects of digital platform development and integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture for Liferay DXP-based digital platforms, including headless, decoupled, and portal-based implementation models.
• Design Liferay DXP architecture across Sites, Pages, Content Structures, Web Content, Documents & Media, Workflows, Asset Publisher, Fragments, Templates, and Localization.
• Define headless content delivery models using Liferay Headless APIs, REST APIs, GraphQL, API Gateway, API versioning, and developer-consumption standards.
• Architect Liferay extension strategies using Client Extensions, OSGi modules, custom services, themes, fragments, and microservices where required.
• Design identity and access architecture using OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SSO, LDAP / Active Directory, RBAC, ABAC, and enterprise IAM integration.

Platform Deployment and Integration

• Define cloud-native deployment architecture for Liferay DXP on OCI, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and environment promotion across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD.
• Own integration architecture with external systems using REST, SOAP, event-driven patterns, Kafka / messaging, webhooks, and enterprise integration middleware.
• Define performance, caching, and scalability strategies using Liferay clustering, Redis, CDN, load balancers, database optimization, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, and sub-300ms API response targets.

Security and Technical Governance

• Own security architecture for the Liferay layer, including encryption, key management, WAF, DDoS protection, secure APIs, audit logging, compliance, and data-protection controls.
• Lead technical governance across vendors, including API contract approvals, architecture reviews, coding standards, release governance, runbooks, technical design documents, and decision records.

Required Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in Liferay development and solution architecture. This full-time, on-site position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
