MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN HIGH THROUGHPUT NGS (Sec) R

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) | مستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician High-Throughput NGS (Sec)-R to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves leading and coordinating laboratory activities, performing a variety of testing, and operating automated equipment. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve problems related to specimen processes and the activities of Laboratory Technicians and Assistants.
• Receive, sort, and accession lab specimens in ICIS, processing them via manual and automated methods.
• Contact phlebotomists, nurses, and doctors as needed to resolve specimen-related issues.
• View activity orders in ICIS and print both collection and aliquot labels.
• Perform separate procedural steps of less complex laboratory testing procedures to obtain results for patient disease diagnosis.
• Operate automated testing and diagnostic equipment in accordance with accepted and established procedures.
• Prepare specimens for observation and analysis by other laboratory staff members.
• Identify and label all specimens to be retained, filing them for later reference.
• Assist in training new laboratory technicians and trainees.
• Inventory and request biweekly supplies (warehouse and pre-analytical machine supplies), and arrange monthly staff schedules with the senior and supervisor.
• Work in accordance with standards established by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current Registration from country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
• Completion of approved accreditation according to the country of origin is required for non-Saudi applicants.

Experience

Candidates should possess 4 years of experience in a relevant laboratory setting.
