About the Role

Hays is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Engineer for a 12-month contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to supporting the client's Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity needs, with a focus on securing industrial control systems and ensuring cyber resilience across OT environments. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining regulatory compliance and enhancing the organization's overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform system hardening across OT/ICS environments, including SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities through the implementation and execution of risk-based vulnerability management programs.
  • Execute and support Operational Technology Cybersecurity Compliance (OTCC) activities in alignment with Saudi regulatory frameworks.
  • Conduct internal OT cybersecurity audits, assessments, and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive OT cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure secure system design and integration.
  • Monitor OT environments for cyber threats, anomalies, and incidents, and assist during incident response activities.
  • Support compliance with key industry standards such as IEC 62443, NIST, and local Saudi cybersecurity regulations, including NCA guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, technical documentation, and compliance evidence.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for improving the organization's overall OT cybersecurity posture and resilience.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in OT/ICS cybersecurity or within industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and industrial network protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of OT cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including IEC 62443, NIST, and ISO 27001.
  • Proven experience with vulnerability assessment tools and their application for remediation in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with network segmentation, firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection solutions within OT systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting OT cybersecurity audits and managing compliance programs.
