The Role of Procurement Specialist

Alsalam Aerospace Industries is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the acquisition of goods and services from both local and international suppliers. The role involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries, and adhering to company policies. It requires a strong understanding of international trade regulations, logistics, and supply chain management across various regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and engage local and international suppliers to meet procurement needs, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure cost-effective purchasing and timely deliveries.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services, ensuring purchase orders meet specifications, quantities, and quality requirements, and coordinating with logistics teams for timely transportation.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, delivery terms, and contract conditions with suppliers across diverse regions, ensuring compliance with local and international trade regulations, customs, and tariffs.
  • Monitor and control procurement costs for both local and international purchases, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and preparing reports on expenditures and cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with local laws and international trade regulations, including import/export laws and customs documentation, and stay informed about changes in trade laws.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers, managing supplier performance and promptly resolving any related issues.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of international and local shipments, monitoring inventory levels and tracking customs clearance processes.
  • Analyze procurement data, including cost trends, vendor performance, and delivery efficiency, preparing regular reports for management and continuously assessing and improving procurement processes.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on both local and international sourcing. The role requires demonstrated ability in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and navigating complex international trade regulations and logistics. Strong analytical skills for cost control and data reporting are essential.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with standard office hours. Occasional international travel may be required for vendor visits, trade shows, or contract negotiations. The ability to coordinate across multiple regions and work with international time zones is necessary.
