About the Product Portfolio Manager Role

alfanar is seeking a Product Portfolio Manager for Medium Voltage to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires over 10 years of experience and focuses on ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and effective representation of our product portfolio across all platforms.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the availability, accuracy, and consistency of product portfolio information. This includes ensuring all product specifications are aligned with engineering data and effectively represented to support business operations and market visibility. Key responsibilities involve managing product data and specifications, overseeing digital content, coordinating across departments, structuring portfolio visibility, and ensuring data governance.

Key Accountability Areas

  • Product Data and Specification Management: Oversee the collection, validation, and consolidation of product specifications from factory and engineering teams. Ensure all product data is accurate, complete, and aligned with approved technical documentation, maintaining consistency across all platforms.
  • Website and Digital Content Oversight: Manage the publication and update of product specifications on digital platforms, including the company website. Ensure product information is structured, up-to-date, and reflects current configurations. Monitor the quality and consistency of product representation across digital channels.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with factory, engineering, and relevant teams to obtain and validate technical product information. Align internally on product updates, changes, and new releases, and resolve discrepancies between engineering data and published content.
  • Portfolio Visibility and Structuring: Maintain a structured and organized view of the product portfolio. Ensure clarity and accessibility of product information for internal and external users, supporting the standardization of product naming, classification, and presentation.
  • Data Governance and Control: Establish and maintain controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of product information, including version control and traceability of specification updates. Ensure compliance with internal documentation standards.
  • Support to Business Functions: Provide accurate and validated product information to support sales, marketing, and tendering activities, ensuring readiness for external communication.

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

This role involves significant leadership responsibilities, including cultivating high performers, managing underperformers, and ensuring equitable treatment of subordinates based on performance. The manager is expected to take full responsibility for their operations, anticipate problems, and make timely decisions. This includes transforming corporate goals into business plans, monitoring performance, controlling budgets, and developing organizational structures and job descriptions.

Operational Excellence and Quality

The position requires a focus on delivering results in a timely manner with the required quality and cost. Managers are expected to make a tangible difference in their area of operation and exceed business expectations. This includes driving business process improvements, seeking automation opportunities, and promoting the use of IT solutions. Quality is considered a prime competitive advantage for alfanar, and managers are expected to act accordingly. Adaptation to new techniques, technologies, and business models is also essential.
