About the Role at Turner & Townsend

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Director to lead ambitious and highly technical projects. This full-time role is based in the Middle Oraija District, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Project Director will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and delivery of projects, supporting client and stakeholder decision-making to optimize project outcomes.

Project Leadership and Oversight

This position requires a leader capable of championing the evolving operations of the project office, ensuring all necessary support services are in place for effective project management. The Project Director will assure the overall integrity and coherence of project execution. The role demands the ability to successfully influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. Functional leads will report directly to the Project Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the project team, ensuring activities align with client strategic objectives and add business value.
  • Ensure the client meets regulatory obligations for the project, delivering capital investments efficiently and with appropriate consultation.
  • Develop and deploy consistent working practices and standards (*, Risk, Schedule, Cost, Quality) aligned with Turner & Townsend Best Practice, providing capability support including training and assurance.
  • Assure and scrutinize the project through the gateway process, ensuring robust business cases and demonstrable capital efficiency for all investments.
  • Maintain baseline integrity and provide relevant, timely, and accurate management information for effective decision-making and optimized investment.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient deployment of resources across the project.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 20+ years of experience in project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a relevant field.
  • Recognized Project Management qualifications.
  • Professionally qualified or equivalent, with strong Portfolio, Programme, Project, and Risk Management skills or strategy/business planning strengths.
  • Proven track record in planning and implementing major projects, including experience in operational environments with complex stakeholders.
  • Experience in solution development or design for complex projects, particularly in construction.
  • An effective problem solver with a track record of applying analytical approaches to complex issues and developing pragmatic solutions.
