About the Role

UCC Holding is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered according to established work practices and specifications, meeting or exceeding client expectations within defined timelines. The QA/QC Engineer will implement international quality standards and procedures across all construction activities.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist in developing and implementing the Project Quality Management System, including establishing necessary procedures, plans, and work instructions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Project QA/QC Manager or Sr. QA/QC Engineer in implementing the quality management system on-site, adhering to the approved Project Quality Plan and IMS Procedures.
  • Preparing and submitting Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) for all construction activities to the consultant.
  • Checking all incoming materials against project specifications and approved material submittals.
  • Monitoring WIRs and test reports, providing status updates to the Quality Manager and site team.
  • Establishing and monitoring QA/QC Plans, Method Statements, and Test Plans before and during project execution to meet quality requirements.
  • Ensuring document control procedures are implemented and approved documents are distributed via the document control system.
  • Verifying that work inspections are conducted as per plan and advising the construction team on corrective actions to prevent rejections, aiming for a 90% first-submission pass rate.
  • Inspecting all materials internally before consultant inspection, raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to suppliers for substandard materials, and including inspection records in monthly quality reports.
  • Maintaining records of all work and material inspections, providing data for weekly progress meetings.
  • Recording all test results and ensuring availability of mill certificates for steel.
  • Ensuring logs and test reports are available for all tests as per the approved testing matrix.
  • Checking daily concrete pour cards and providing copies to the storekeeper, cost controller, and quantity surveyor.
  • Supporting HSE initiatives, participating in safety awareness activities, and contributing to incident reporting and resolution in line with company and IMS policies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as ISO 9001, QCS, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, with technical experience in addressing various QC issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) or Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
  • Knowledge of local employment laws and regulations sufficient for policy analysis.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
