Job Description
About the Role
Al Watania For Industries is seeking a Safety Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with applicable regulations and company requirements. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs across the facility/site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi HSE regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety requirements.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor safe work practices, including Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, working at height, confined space, and hot work.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees and contractors.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Prepare and maintain HSE reports, inspection records, incident reports, and safety statistics.
- Support emergency preparedness, including fire prevention, emergency response, and evacuation drills.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and other departments to identify and mitigate operational safety risks.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure.
- Monitor contractors' compliance with company safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the company's Safety Culture and HSE performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety / HSE, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, and safety inspections.
- Good knowledge of OSHA, ISO 45001, and applicable Saudi HSE regulations.
- NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification is preferred.
Required Skills
- Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
