About the Role

alfanar is seeking a dedicated and experienced Section Manager for Production LAB & GPS to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and involves leading and managing the Production Laboratory and Glaze Preparation sections. The primary objective is to ensure consistent quality, process efficiency, and production innovation through raw material testing, glaze formulation, process optimization, and team development to meet production targets and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory activities, including raw material analysis, chemical testing, and providing advice for correcting quality issues.
• Develop and implement testing protocols for new materials and formulations, ensuring proper calibration and upkeep of lab equipment.
• Manage glaze formulation, mixing, and application processes, collaborating with R&D and design teams to develop new glaze effects and finishes.
• Monitor glaze performance during production, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate documentation of glazing recipes and process parameters.
• Monitor shade variation, take corrective actions for deviations, and obtain R&D Manager approval for product changes before commercial production.
• Communicate essential information to related departments regarding developed bodies, glazes, and pilot run production, ensuring specified parameters are maintained.
• Control pigments and raw materials related to glazes, regularly checking related inventory.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and support trials and pilot runs for new products and processes.
• Prepare regular reports on lab results, glaze performance, and production KPIs, maintaining accurate records of tests, formulations, and process changes.
• Participate in audits and contribute to quality assurance documentation.

Leadership and Managerial Accountabilities

• Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers to develop a robust second line of management, while guiding low performers for improvement or release.
• Ensure fair treatment of subordinates without discrimination, basing assessment criteria on performance and planned results.
• Take full responsibility for operations as per the job description and deliverables, adhering to company guidelines.
• Anticipate problems and implement proactive steps to prevent them, making necessary and timely decisions.

• Provide periodic work progress reports and control budgets and expenses for optimum cost efficiency.
• Develop the organizational structure based on current and future requirements, ensuring job descriptions are available for all roles.
• Develop and coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities and promoting the full use of IT solutions relevant to the business.

• Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment in accordance with standard regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a related field.
