About the Role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves supporting the Finance function and acting as a Business Partner to the local leadership team within the Saudi Arabian business, which employs approximately 475 staff across Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Natural Resource sectors and is projected for continued growth.

Job Purpose and Context

Reporting to the KSA Finance Director, the Senior Accountant will be a qualified and technically proficient professional. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on preparing Management Accounts, Forecasts, and Project Accounting. The individual will serve as a key Business Partner to KSA Management and Sector Managers, ensuring alignment of objectives and adherence to financial governance standards. Experience in a KSA-based multinational consultancy or construction industry environment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate month-end reporting, including Management Accounts, Financial Reports, and Forecasts, in close collaboration with Commission and Finance Leads.
  • Manage and analyze key business reports such as Business Partnering, Project Profitability, Project Revenue Trackers, Project Accounting, and Work-in-Progress (WIP).
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, articulating and managing variances in accordance with financial reporting standards.
  • Support ad-hoc month-end reporting and provide commentary for variance analysis.
  • Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of Revenue Trackers and Income Statements.
  • Assist with the annual statutory audit and support the annual budget submission.
  • Process General Ledger journal transactions for both Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Manage client invoicing, requiring the ability to handle conflicting time and workload pressures.
  • Perform intercompany account reconciliations and take necessary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting standards and internal accounting policies.
  • Support the preparation of monthly payroll, including generation of payroll journals and reconciliations, and respond to payroll queries.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years of post-qualified experience. A strong analytical and methodical mindset, coupled with advanced Excel skills, is essential. The role requires comfort in a fast-moving, dynamic environment and the ability to manage conflicting pressures and heavy workloads independently when necessary. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for frequent interaction with senior management and effective business partnering.
