About the Role

MOBCO Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join their project team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with a strong background in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within the construction sector, specifically with experience in hospitality and hotel development projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing project expenditures, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring comprehensive cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and cost control systems.
  • Track project expenditures and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, earned value analysis, and financial performance reports.
  • Monitor commitments, variations, change orders, and claims to evaluate their cost impact.
  • Coordinate with project managers, commercial teams, procurement departments, and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Analyze project progress against budgets and identify potential cost overruns and financial risks.
  • Review subcontractor payment applications, supplier invoices, and cost-related documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of project forecasts and management reports.
  • Support tendering and estimation teams by providing cost data and historical project information.
  • Participate in value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and project reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly cost control reports and present findings to senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 11 years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or commercial management within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience on hospitality, hotel, luxury resort, or mixed-use development projects is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, earned value management, and cost reporting.
  • Experience working with major contracting companies on large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and cost management software.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and reporting skills.

Mandatory Experience

  • 7 to 11 years of relevant experience in cost engineering and cost control.
  • Mandatory experience in hospitality or hotel projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project cost management processes and construction financial controls.
  • Previous experience with reputable contracting companies.
  • Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
