This role is integral to supporting clients in the energy sector by providing end-to-end services for energy networks, generation, and storage solutions. Role Overview

This pivotal position involves the detailed design and analysis of high-voltage overhead transmission lines (HVAC/HVDC) for critical infrastructure projects. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for ensuring designs adhere to industry best practices, utilizing relevant software, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute detailed design and analysis for overhead transmission lines, covering route selection, tower spotting, conductor selection, and insulation coordination.
• Utilize industry-standard software including PLS-CADD for transmission line design and CYMCAP for cable modeling.
• Employ related analysis tools such as AutoCAD and GIS for design and visualization.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations, such as Saudi Arabian standards, to all design activities.
• Demonstrate familiarity with construction methodologies, installation techniques, and quality control for both overhead and underground systems.
• Conduct complex technical calculations and develop solutions for engineering challenges in transmission line and cable system design and performance.
• Identify potential technical risks during design and construction phases and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Coordinate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineering disciplines, surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction teams.
• Conduct site investigations and interpret data, including geotechnical and survey reports, for design purposes.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety principles and ensure adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Proven experience in the detailed design and analysis of high-voltage overhead transmission lines.
• Demonstrable expertise in using industry-standard software for transmission line design (*, PLS-CADD) and cable modeling (*, CYMCAP).
• Proficiency in related analysis tools such as AutoCAD and GIS.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant international (IEC, IEEE) and local (*, Saudi Arabian standards) codes, standards, and regulations.
• Familiarity with construction and installation practices for both overhead and underground systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform complex technical calculations.
• Proven experience in risk assessment and mitigation within design and construction contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience conducting site investigations and interpreting relevant data.
• A strong commitment to safety in all engineering aspects.
