Senior Façade Architect / Façade Design Architect

About the Role

Sana Al Jazira Co. Ltd. is seeking a Senior Façade Architect / Façade Design Architect to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires an experienced professional with strong technical knowledge of architectural façade systems, capable of independently developing detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction details for complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed façade shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Develop plans, elevations, sections, enlarged details, and typical façade details.
• Prepare GRC/GFRC and UHPC panel layouts, panelization, and production/fabrication drawings.
• Develop aluminum cladding, glazing, and architectural metalwork details.
• Prepare and coordinate façade fixing, bracket, support, and connection details with structural requirements.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, and other disciplines.
• Review IFC/design drawings to identify clashes, missing information, and constructability issues.
• Prepare material take-offs and assist with façade optimization and panelization.
• Coordinate drawings with factory/production teams and site installation teams.
• Incorporate consultant/client comments and manage drawing revisions.
• Coordinate BIM/Revit models where required.
• Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, materials, and project requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant façade design/detailing experience, with a maximum of 10 years.
• Strong practical experience in GRC/GFRC façade systems is essential.
• Experience with UHPC architectural cladding is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of aluminum cladding, glazing/glass systems, architectural metalwork, and façade interfaces.
• Experience working directly with façade fabrication and site teams is highly preferred.
• Candidates whose experience is primarily architectural concept/design work without substantial façade shop drawing and fabrication drawing experience will not be suitable for this position.

Technical Skills

• Excellent AutoCAD skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit/BIM.
• Ability to independently prepare shop drawings and fabrication/production drawings.
• Good understanding of façade brackets, anchors, steel supports, joints, tolerances, and installation requirements.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings and coordinate between disciplines.
