About the Role

Qiddiya is seeking a Senior Design Manager - Landscape & Public Realm to contribute to the development of landscape and public realm environments across its portfolio of entertainment, leisure, cultural, and mixed-use projects. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role involves design leadership, technical expertise, and project delivery, managing complex multidisciplinary projects from concept through to construction and operational readiness.

Role Context and Objectives

Working on the client side, the Senior Design Manager will champion design excellence while ensuring projects are delivered safely, sustainably, and efficiently, in alignment with Qiddiya's vision and development objectives. The role requires extensive experience in large-scale destination developments, including land development and land servicing infrastructure, along with a strong understanding of landscape architecture, public realm design, project governance, and consultant management. The Senior Design Manager will serve as a key interface between internal stakeholders, external consultants, and project delivery teams, focusing on creating memorable guest experiences and supporting long-term environmental resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage landscape and public realm design activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with Qiddiya's vision and masterplans.
• Promote design excellence, innovation, and creativity in developing high-quality public realms.
• Ensure design solutions are functional, sustainable, cost-effective, and operationally appropriate.
• Oversee the review and coordination of technical design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and BIM outputs.
• Support procurement processes for external consultants, including technical reviews and tender assessments.
• Manage external landscape and public realm consultants, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality expectations.
• Oversee planning, delivery, and implementation of landscape and public realm projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Conduct technical design reviews of landscape and public realm design packages, including associated disciplines like Lighting, Signage, and Wayfinding.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations, authority requirements, and environmental standards.
• Promote sustainable landscape design principles and responsible resource management.
• Champion Health, Safety, and Wellbeing through proactive management and compliance with safety protocols.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in landscape and public realm design and project delivery.
• Proven ability to manage complex multidisciplinary projects from concept through to construction.
• Extensive experience in large-scale destination developments, including land development and land servicing infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of landscape architecture, public realm design, project governance, and consultant management.
• Experience within the Middle East and familiarity with Saudi Arabian regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements are desirable.

Work Environment and Culture

The Senior Design Manager will report to the Director of Landscape & Public Realm. This role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and delivery partners. The position supports Qiddiya's commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, and contributes to a culture of accountability and technical excellence. The Senior Design Manager will also mentor junior team members and contribute to internal capability development.
