Senior Planning Engineer/ Planning Manager Buildings Contractor

About the Role

CG Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer/Planning Manager to join an international contractor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves working on a large-scale mixed-use entertainment venue. The successful candidate will lead and manage the planning and scheduling function, ensuring effective programme development, progress monitoring, critical path management, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain the overall project baseline programme and detailed construction schedules.
• Lead the planning function, coordinating with project management, engineering, procurement, commercial, and construction teams.
• Monitor project progress against approved programmes, identifying delays, critical path impacts, and potential risks.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, look-ahead programmes, and management presentations.
• Undertake programme analysis, delay assessments, mitigation strategies, and recovery planning.
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier programmes, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule.
• Monitor procurement, design, engineering, construction, and commissioning interfaces.
• Identify programme risks and proactively recommend solutions to protect key milestones.
• Lead programme reviews and progress meetings with internal stakeholders and the client/consultant.
• Ensure compliance with contractual programme requirements and reporting obligations.
• Provide strategic planning advice and support to the Project Director and senior management team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience working as a Planner for main contractors.
• Proven track record on large-scale, complex building or mixed-use developments.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with strong knowledge of project controls and planning methodologies.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement, design coordination, and commissioning.
• Experience in critical path analysis, EOT assessments, delay analysis, and programme recovery.

Additional Information

Preference will be given to candidates currently in Saudi Arabia who can transfer their visa. The salary for this position is not disclosed.
