About the Senior Security Assurance Solutions Architect Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Security Assurance Solutions Architect to join the Security Assurance Services (SAS) team. This role is based in Riyadh and involves a full-time commitment. The SAS team focuses on developing scalable security solutions for both internal and external customers, aiming to secure global workloads and foster a more secure future. This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and compliance.

Role Context and Objectives

The AWS Security Assurance Services team collaborates with large enterprise clients to implement the shared responsibility model as they transition to the cloud. This role is designed for a Governance, Risk, and Compliance leader who can address the complexities of migrating systems and workloads to the cloud and assist executives in meeting enterprise risk management requirements through scalable computing architectures. The Senior Security Assurance Solutions Architect will contribute to the expansion of the Security Assurance practice by educating customers on how product-led, people-powered services enable secure operations on AWS and facilitate the achievement of compliance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead teams, including Amazonians, partners, and customers, to improve security assurance and compliance programs.
• Define and guide teams in developing innovative compliance and risk management strategies for customers, enabling them to migrate sensitive workloads to the cloud more efficiently.
• Engage with customers to address security assurance inquiries, understand risk management and compliance achievement within the AWS Cloud through in-depth discussions, strategic presentations, and demonstrations of compliance automation.
• Collaborate with AWS engineering, support, and business teams to relay partner and customer feedback for input into AWS technology roadmaps.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in information security and compliance.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or a related field.
• Experience in risk management and internal audit, including performing risk assessments and audits, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risk.
• Experience securing cloud software services and understanding design principles for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience advising customers on architectures that meet industry standards and regulations such as NIST 800-53 and GDPR.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA, or equivalent risk, audit, or compliance credentials.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials), or Security+.
• A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience in conducting security assessments and information system audits of networks, operating systems, application security, and IT processes.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

Work Environment

This is a customer-facing role located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position requires a full-time commitment. Success in this role is measured by enabling customers to migrate their workloads and regulated data to the cloud by effectively addressing their specific risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
