Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Emdad By Elm is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing. The role focuses on ensuring software quality throughout the SDLC/STLC by designing comprehensive test scenarios, managing defects, reviewing automation scripts, and troubleshooting issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases, covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases.
• Manage defects, including reporting, investigation, retesting, and root-cause analysis.
• Review test cases and automation code created by other QA engineers.
• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test scripts, understanding automation framework structure.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify missing requirements, risks, and edge cases.
• Ensure software quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Test Life Cycle (STLC).

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing.
• Strong experience in Manual Testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
• Strong experience in API Testing, specifically with REST APIs and Web Services.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar.
• Experience with defect/project management tools like Jira.

Qualifications and Skills

• ISTQB Foundation certification is required.
• Good hands-on knowledge of Playwright automation using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze logs, API responses, database records, and application behavior.
• Good understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, authentication, JSON/XML, and API request/response validation.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Git and source-control platforms such as GitHub or Bitbucket.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a team dedicated to software quality assurance.
