About the Shift Engineer (Shift Leader) Role

Careers International is seeking a Shift Engineer (Shift Leader) to oversee paper production operations in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience to ensure production targets for volume, quality, and cost are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Review production logs to allocate tasks and direct subordinate shift members to achieve agreed production line targets.
• Participate in the operation of a complete production line within an allocated plant area to ensure continuous and efficient operations and meet line production targets.
• Monitor system performance and adjust calibrations and settings to optimize line stages, ensure efficient throughput, and minimize waste.
• Troubleshoot non-routine defects by recalibrating settings to minimize production downtime; escalate serious malfunctions to Maintenance and Quality Control.
• Perform minor maintenance activities to optimize operating efficiency and prolong asset life.
• Prepare for scheduled shutdowns and supervise team planning during unscheduled shutdowns in cooperation with superiors.
• Act as a technical reference for subordinate shift members, assisting with troubleshooting and providing on-the-job training.
• Interface with Maintenance, Stores, Quality, and other production units for material supply and activity coordination.
• Lead shift hand-over/take-over meetings to share real-time operating conditions and potential problems.
• Log operating parameters to ensure operations are within normal limits and report any irregularities to immediate supervisors.
• Fulfill all Jumbo Roles produced in the shift on the ERP Production Module.
• Ensure the availability of raw materials against the production plan to prevent production interruptions.
• Maintain a clean workplace and ensure all work complies with approved occupational, health, and safety procedures.
• Ensure shift team members are well-presented, adhere to company uniform standards, and observe personal hygiene that enhances the company image.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience in the paper industry is required.
• Demonstrated first-level supervisory potential.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of equipment and processes within one's own area.
• Good knowledge of English at a basic level is required.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves direct supervision of production operations and coordination with various departments.
