About the Role

Elsewedy Electric is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves overseeing civil works for the 132 kV UGC project, ensuring compliance with project standards and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect daily civil works, including excavation, trenching, ducting, joint bay construction, and reinstatement, for the 132 kV UGC project, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and safety standards.
• Support the Site Manager in site execution, productivity, quality, and progress of the civil scope of works.
• Assist in planning and managing daily, weekly, and monthly civil site activities to achieve project milestones and approved schedules.
• Monitor the civil works schedule, identify delays/constraints, and report and support recovery actions as required.
• Supervise and coordinate civil works subcontractor crews, including manpower, equipment, productivity, work fronts, and performance.
• Coordinate with municipalities, RIPC, road authorities, utility owners, and other relevant government entities on civil interface requirements.
• Follow up on excavation permits, road cutting/reinstatement approvals, and inspections related to civil site activities.
• Coordinate civil construction interfaces with HV cable installation, HDD, joint bays, cable trenches, ducts, link boxes, earthing, and related activities.
• Verify the availability and conformity of civil materials (backfill, ducts, concrete, warning tapes/tiles) against specifications and approved quantities.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly site reports covering civil progress, manpower, equipment, quantities, and constraints.
• Monitor actual civil progress against planned progress and report accurate measurements and forecasts to the Site Manager.
• Coordinate with the team on progress measurement, subcontractor quantities, and supporting documentation for the civil scope.
• Review subcontractor progress claims for the civil scope against actual site progress and approved quantities.
• Identify and report potential variations, additional works, and delays affecting the civil scope for proper documentation.
• Attend regular coordination meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders and follow up on action items related to civil works.
• Resolve civil site technical issues in coordination with engineering, planning, QA/QC, HSE, and project management teams.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, approved method statements, quality procedures, and project specifications for civil works, including excavation safety, shoring, and traffic management.
• Coordinate civil inspections, testing, reinstatement acceptance, punch-list clearance, and as-built documentation.
• Maintain effective communication with the Site Manager, project management, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, subcontractors, consultants, and authorities.
• Provide the Site Manager with timely updates on civil progress, risks, delays, manpower, and resource needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant civil engineering role.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on on-site civil engineering activities for the 132 kV UGC project.
