About Hatch and the Role

Hatch is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Developer to join the Product Development team within its Digital Practice in Riyadh, Riyadh Region. This role is for a highly motivated individual with strong front-end and back-end capabilities, demonstrated fluency in AI-assisted development workflows, and the ability to serve as a technical lead for a small group of contributors. The position focuses on identifying, designing, building, and productizing Hatch's deep subject matter expertise across a portfolio of bespoke client engagements, ranging from new builds to the revitalization of existing solutions. Hatch operates globally with over 70 years of business and technical expertise in mining, energy, and infrastructure, focusing on digital transformation and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for a small group of contributors, including developers and data engineers, across a portfolio of bespoke engagements.
• Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and offer architectural direction to the project team to ensure quality products and solutions.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of a small portfolio of concurrent engagements, from requirements clarification through deployment.
• Implement mature AI-assisted development practices, including prompt design, agent workflows, multi-file refactors, and disciplined human review of AI-generated code.
• Work effectively within Agile teams to complete committed backlogs and operate semi-autonomously on smaller engagements.
• Execute user stories according to acceptance criteria and participate in estimating, sprint planning, software development life cycle activities, code reviews, testing, research, deployments, and documentation creation.
• Contribute to design and architecture investigations and decisions for both front-end and back-end concerns.
• Emphasize collaboration and communication within and outside the team to continuously improve software delivery processes.
• Communicate open items, risks, and trade-offs to key stakeholders, including management.
• Stay informed about technology developments and AI tooling advancements relevant to current and future initiatives.
• Work effectively in a team environment with shared code, disciplined use of source control, and process documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in full-stack development.
• Demonstrated fluency in AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience operating as a technical lead for a small group of contributors.
• Working familiarity with Microsoft Azure services relevant to the stack, including Storage Accounts, B2C, Key Vault, API Services, and Functions, sufficient for development and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing end-to-end solutions and/or products.
• Experience collaborating with data engineers and other cross-discipline contributors.
• Experience evaluating new development frameworks and technologies and providing adoption recommendations.
• Experience with software quality assurance methodologies and technologies.
• Experience building consensus across teams.

Additional Considerations

• Familiarity with Google Cloud services is considered an asset.
• Experience adapting development practices for AI-augmented teams, including workflow design, agent tooling, and review discipline.
• An understanding of the various skillsets required to build products, including subject matter experts, engineers, designers, and user experience practitioners.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within the Digital Products group, focusing on delivering digital products in an industry undergoing accelerated change and innovation. The role requires operating across multiple engagements and treating AI as a first-class collaborator in daily workflows.
