Solution Architect, Data Centre Infrastructure

Vertiv is seeking a Solution Architect, Data Centre Infrastructure to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is designed for a data centre professional who focuses on delivering infrastructure that is built, commissioned, and operated at scale, moving beyond conceptual design to real-world deployment.

Role Overview and Strategic Impact

As part of the Infrastructure Solutions business unit, specifically within the prefabricated division, the Solution Architect will represent Vertiv's full capabilities to customers. This position involves translating complex client requirements into integrated, world-class data centre solutions. The role operates at the intersection of engineering, delivery, and client engagement, overseeing the solution journey from initial concept through to deployment. It requires a practical understanding of what performs effectively in live environments, not solely theoretical design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate customer requirements into solution concepts using approved architectures and standards.
  • Develop comprehensive technical proposals, solution descriptions, and Bills of Material.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team during customer engagements, presentations, and clarifications.
  • Apply Vertiv reference architectures, redundancy models, and design guidelines, ensuring alignment with portfolio positioning, cost models, and delivery constraints.
  • Identify and escalate deviations from standard architectures as required.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, services) and coordinate inputs from specialists.
  • Support the smooth handover of solutions into execution phases.
  • Ensure solutions meet defined technical, compliance, and customer requirements, highlighting technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Support validation against applicable standards, including Tier intent and redundancy philosophy.
  • Capture lessons learned from executed projects and contribute feedback to improve reference designs, tools, and solution guidelines.
  • Actively develop technical and commercial understanding of Vertivโ€™s offerings.

Essential Capabilities and Experience

Success in this role is built upon a combination of design expertise, operational understanding, and client engagement. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience and demonstrate the following core capabilities:

  • Design Depth: Strong mechanical and electrical design capability across data centre systems, coupled with cross-discipline awareness.
  • Operational Reality: Proven experience with constructed, commissioned, and running data centre facilities.
  • Customer Leadership: Ability to effectively engage clients, translate complex requirements, and shape solutions that deliver measurable value.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
