Core Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for supporting students with a range of learning needs and disabilities. Key duties include the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), adapting lesson plans and teaching methodologies, and delivering targeted interventions in collaboration with general education teachers. The role also involves conducting ongoing assessments, meticulously tracking student progress, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with school policies. Regular communication with families and colleagues, participation in multidisciplinary meetings, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture are essential aspects of this position.

Instructional Duties

This role includes supporting middle school classrooms, providing instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings, and engaging in continuous professional development to stay abreast of best practices in special education. Required Qualifications

• A strong foundation in Special Education, with experience in working with various disabilities and designing individualized education plans and interventions.
• Proven teaching experience, ideally at the Middle School level, demonstrating skill in differentiating instruction and managing diverse classrooms.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; additional certifications in special or inclusive education are advantageous.
• Knowledge of current inclusive education practices, behavioral support strategies, and academic accommodations and modifications.
