About the Environment Fund

The Environment Fund (صندوق البيئة) is dedicated to supporting environmental initiatives and investments. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Fund plays a crucial role in advancing sustainable practices and managing a diverse investment portfolio across various asset classes.

Role Summary: Specialist, Private & Public Markets

The Specialist, Private & Public Markets will contribute to the execution, monitoring, and optimization of the Fund's investments. This full-time position involves conducting detailed financial, operational, and market analyses across private equity, infrastructure, other alternative asset classes, and public market instruments. The Specialist will support strategic decision-making by performing due diligence, developing valuation models, monitoring portfolio performance, and preparing analytical reports. All activities must comply with established investment policies, risk assessment criteria, and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities in Private Markets

  • Support the implementation of approved private market investment strategies, ensuring compliance with the Fund's investment policy statement, governance standards, and risk limits.
  • Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities by reviewing fund managers' track records, value propositions, and operational structures.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and due diligence providers to validate assumptions and ensure thorough deal evaluation.
  • Conduct periodic analyses of portfolio company performance and fund investments using indicators such as IRR, TVPI, DPI, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support the processing and forwarding of capital calls in coordination with relevant parties when the private markets team is unavailable, ensuring required procedures are completed in accordance with approved policies.

Key Responsibilities in Public Markets and Operations

  • Support the development and conduct of detailed research on public market instruments such as equities, bonds, and funds.
  • Perform comprehensive financial analyses using valuation models such as DCF WACC, CAPM, and others, as well as benchmarking and sensitivity testing.
  • Prepare data-driven reports and dashboards that illustrate performance trends, risk metrics, and market forecasts.
  • Prepare high-quality, professional presentations to clearly communicate research findings, trend analyses, and investment insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for investment committee meetings on a regular basis (quarterly and otherwise), ensuring readiness according to approved requirements and within the specified timeframe.
  • Review custodian reports and ensure consistency with investment managers' reports, including the use of the same benchmarks, and verify the accuracy and validity of the data. Organize and archive these reports for easy retrieval.
  • Participate in and coordinate meetings, as requested, with fund managers and analysts to review performance or provide economic insights.
  • Support the operation and acquisition of sufficient knowledge in portfolio management systems using Bloomberg, analysis dashboards, and data extraction to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Maintain the investment database and continuously update information related to transactions and fund managers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: This role is open to Fresh Graduates, with 0-1 years of experience required.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a dynamic investment environment, contributing to the strategic objectives of the Environment Fund.
