SR.TECHNICIAN FIBER OPTICS

About the Role

Alfanar Projects is seeking a SR.TECHNICIAN FIBER OPTICS to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves the splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables, along with supervising related works across various projects throughout the Kingdom. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform splicing of fiber optic cables, including SM & MM types for indoor, outdoor, underground, and OPGW applications.
• Prepare and arrange fiber optic cables according to established standards for splicing.
• Execute termination work for fiber optic cables using various connector types (FC-ST-LC-SC) and termination methods (Hot Melt & Epoxy-Polish) for all FO SM & MM cables.
• Conduct troubleshooting on fiber optic cables post-splicing to resolve faults before final testing.
• Perform local testing of fiber optic cables with OTDR & Power Meter after splicing to ensure readiness for final witness testing.
• Adhere to all safety requirements mandated by main clients.
• Supervise site teams in pulling and arranging FO cables prior to splicing, ensuring cable integrity and compliance with standards and project requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in fiber optics, specifically in splicing, termination, and testing.
• Proficiency in using OTDR and Power Meter for fiber optic cable testing.
• Experience with various fiber optic cable types (SM & MM) and termination methods.

Work Environment and Location

This role involves working on fiber optic projects across various locations throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of a dedicated team. The primary base is in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
