The Role of Storage Backup Engineer

TCS is seeking a Storage Backup Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in storage and backup administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining critical backup and storage environments, ensuring data integrity, availability, and optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct regular backup and restore tests to validate data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with Level 3 support and other IT teams to resolve complex backup and recovery issues.
• Implement and document backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
• Optimize backup schedules and storage utilization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Provide training and support to Level 1 technicians to enhance overall team performance.
• Configure backup jobs to meet defined policies and provide data restore within service level agreements (SLAs).
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to backup and recovery processes.
• Monitor storage systems for availability, performance, and capacity utilization.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues between hosts and storage systems.
• Perform switch administration and firmware upgrades.
• Investigate and resolve storage alerts, faults, and hardware failures.
• Manage capacity for storage devices within the environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining Veeam backup and replication solutions.
• Hands-on expertise in Veeam Backup Solution.
• Practical experience in storage administration of Dell EMC, HPE, and NetApp products.
• A Veeam certification is considered an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years of relevant experience in storage and backup administration.

Work Schedule

The role requires flexibility to work in shifts, specifically afternoon and night shifts, to ensure continuous operational support.
