The firm delivers integrated solutions for transport, ports, marine, energy, and large-scale infrastructure developments. SJ Group is currently supporting a major PMC bid for a substantial port and mining infrastructure development in Oman.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader / Project Director to lead the multidisciplinary supervision team for this major project in Oman. This role will serve as the Client's representative, operating under FIDIC (Engineer) guidelines. The primary focus will be on overseeing design review, construction supervision, and contract management for all marine, port, and mine infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, acting as the primary interface with the Client.
• Oversee the construction supervision activities for port, marine, and mine infrastructure.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams and contractors involved in the project.
• Ensure strict compliance with all technical, contractual, and safety standards.
• Lead progress reporting, stakeholder coordination, and project governance processes.
• Oversee the integration of key project components including breakwater, berths, Material Handling Systems (MHS), utilities, and quarry operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master’s degree in Marine or Ports engineering is preferred.
• A minimum of 20 years of professional experience is necessary.
• At least 10 years of this experience must be specifically in port or marine projects.
• Demonstrated experience in a Project Director or Team Leader capacity on major port development projects is essential.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts is required, with a preference for experience with the Yellow Book.
• Experience managing EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and PMC construction supervision is necessary.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
