About the Role

Surbana Jurong (SJ) is a global urban, infrastructure, and engineering consulting firm. The company is supporting a major PMC bid for a large-scale port and mining infrastructure development in Oman. We are seeking an experienced Team Leader / Project Director to lead the multidisciplinary supervision team for this project. This is a full-time position.

Role Context and Responsibilities

The Team Leader / Project Director will act as the Client’s representative under FIDIC (Engineer). The role involves overseeing design review, construction supervision, and contract management across marine, port, and mine infrastructure works. The position requires leading and managing the PMC team and serving as the primary Client interface. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing construction supervision for port, marine, and mine works.
  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams and contractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with technical, contractual, and safety standards.
  • Leading progress reporting, stakeholder coordination, and project governance.
  • Overseeing the integration of breakwater, berths, MHS, utilities, and quarry operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s in Marine/Ports is preferred.
  • A minimum of 20+ years of overall experience.
  • At least 10+ years of experience specifically in port/marine projects.
  • Proven experience as a Project Director or Team Leader on major port projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, with a preference for the Yellow Book.
  • Experience managing EPC/PMC construction supervision.
  • Fluent in English.
