The Role: Technical Director – Construction Supervision

Surbana Jurong Group is seeking expressions of interest for a Technical Director – Construction Supervision. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will involve providing strategic technical leadership for upcoming major infrastructure projects across the Kingdom. The Technical Director will serve as the senior technical authority, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership and direction across major infrastructure projects during the construction supervision phase.
• Serve as the senior technical authority, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead technical reviews, design coordination, constructability assessments, and engineering solutions for complex project challenges.
• Support Project Directors and Project Managers in delivering technically sound and commercially successful projects.
• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering and construction supervision teams, ensuring consistency and quality across project deliverables.
• Review and approve technical submissions, reports, methodologies, and key project documentation.
• Interface with clients, contractors, authorities, and stakeholders on technical matters and provide expert advice when required.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and the adoption of best practices across projects and teams.
• Mentor and develop technical professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Support business development activities, including technical proposals, bid submissions, and client presentations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering discipline (Master’s Degree preferred).
• Minimum 20+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, construction supervision, and project delivery roles.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership on large-scale infrastructure projects, including transportation, roads, utilities, water, or urban development projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles, construction methodologies, project delivery, and construction supervision practices.
• Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working within international consultancy environments is highly desirable.
• GCC and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia project experience is strongly preferred.
• Professional registration, Chartership, or equivalent industry accreditation is highly advantageous.
