About the Role

Silah Tamkeen is seeking a Technical Support Engineer (Software Engineering) for web applications to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to ensuring the stability and performance of web-based software platforms, serving as an escalation point for Level 1 support. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves close collaboration with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex issues and transform data into actionable insights.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior developers, product managers, and testers to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Rapidly acquire and apply knowledge of new tools, technologies, and best practices relevant to the role.
• Support existing IT systems, infrastructure, and databases to ensure operational continuity.

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Perform data modeling, cleaning, and transformation (ETL) using DAX and Power Query.
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize interactive Microsoft Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to visualize key performance indicators.
• Connect to various data sources, including SQL databases, Excel, and Azure, to clean, transform, and model data for comprehensive analysis using Power Query and DAX.
• Ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and user-friendliness of reports, managing workspaces and data security within the Power BI service.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

• Debug, diagnose, and resolve issues related to web-based software platforms.
• Reproduce reported issues in test and staging environments to accurately identify underlying bugs or misconfigurations.
• Conduct detailed log analysis, SQL/database checks, and API validation to pinpoint root causes of technical problems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a technical support or software engineering role, specifically with web applications.
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and creating interactive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
• Experience with various data sources such as SQL, Excel, and Azure.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed log analysis, SQL/database checks, and API validation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to debug and resolve complex software issues.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
• Proven capacity for teamwork in a dynamic environment.
