About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Typhoon Counter Measure Developer to join their team in Riyadh. As the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor for providing equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia, BAE Systems is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of Saudi National capability. This full-time role focuses on assessing and exploiting Track While Scan (TWS) vulnerabilities, developing platform-specific countermeasures, and facilitating knowledge transfer to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Typhoon Counter Measure Developer will be responsible for a range of technical and leadership duties. This includes assessing TWS reports and analyzing countermeasures, designing coordinated countermeasures (CCM) such as electronic countermeasures (ECM), expendables, and maneuvers tailored to specific platforms. A key output will be the generation of platform-specific Countermeasure Handbooks and Countermeasure Tactics Report descriptions and rationale. The role also involves supporting the Operations team in communicating Tactic & CM rationale to stakeholders, planning, processing, and analyzing trial and exercise data, and developing and maintaining relevant processes and procedures. Reporting on all operational and technical aspects is also a core function.

Leadership and Team Management

In addition to technical responsibilities, this position requires leadership capabilities. The Typhoon Counter Measure Developer will act as the RSAF Threat Vulnerability Assessment and Countermeasures Development (TVACD) Section Lead, providing day-to-day team leadership and direction. This includes managing personnel issues to maximize team utilization, effectiveness, and efficiency, as well as overseeing Prime Contractor Management in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Windows, and internet search is required. Essential experience includes operational countermeasure development. A strong command of the English language is necessary, and candidates must demonstrate an existing SCE registration or the ability to attain one.

Key Deliverables

  • Assessment of TWS reports and CM analysis.
  • Design of platform-specific Coordinated Countermeasures (CCM).
  • Generation of Countermeasure Handbooks and Tactics Reports.
  • Support for stakeholder communication of Tactic & CM rationale.
  • Planning, processing, and analysis of trial and exercise data.
  • Development and maintenance of processes and procedures.

Work Context

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role is integral to BAE Systems' support of the Royal Saudi Air Force and Royal Saudi Naval Force, contributing to national capability development and Saudisation initiatives.
