Hays is partnering with a deep technology investment platform to recruit a Venture Building Consultant. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working with a growing venture development team. The organization invests globally in frontier and industrial technologies, supporting innovations within deep tech sectors.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Venture Building Consultant will work directly with researchers, innovators, and founders to transform cutting-edge technologies into scalable, venture-backed companies. This role involves hands-on venture creation, supporting the commercialization of breakthrough technologies, and guiding founders through company formation, market validation, and fundraising processes. The consultant will contribute to building the next generation of deep-tech companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver venture-building programs focused on commercializing deep-tech innovations and research outputs.
• Collaborate with founders, researchers, and innovators to assess market opportunities and develop scalable business models.
• Support the creation and development of new technology ventures from inception through early growth stages.
• Advise startups on technology commercialization, go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, IP considerations, and venture formation.
• Assist founders in refining value propositions, customer validation efforts, and investor engagement strategies.
• Work with investment professionals, ecosystem partners, universities, and industry stakeholders to accelerate venture development.
• Facilitate connections with corporate partners, pilot opportunities, investors, and strategic collaborators.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of venture-building methodologies, frameworks, and startup support initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in venture building, startup studios, technology commercialization, deep-tech incubation, or related innovation environments.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the creation, launch, or scaling of deep-tech startups, preferably originating from universities, research institutions, or corporate R&D.
• Strong understanding of venture creation, startup development, fundraising, technology transfer, and commercialization processes.
• Experience as a founder, co-founder, Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR), or early-stage operator within a deep-tech business is advantageous.
• Exposure to sectors such as energy, advanced manufacturing, industrial technologies, semiconductors, robotics, advanced materials, mining technologies, sustainability, or related deep tech fields.
• Experience working directly with technical founders, scientists, engineers, and research teams to build commercially viable ventures.
• Ability to operate in a hands-on environment, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution and venture support activities.
• International experience gained within venture studios, startup builders, technology innovation platforms, research commercialization organizations, or deep-tech ecosystems is beneficial.
