About the Role

BD, a leading global medical technology company, is seeking a Vice President, Medical Delivery Solutions (MDS) for the META region. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requires a leader with over 10 years of experience to drive the strategic, commercial, and operational direction of the MDS business within the region.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Vice President of Medical Delivery Solutions (MDS) for META will hold full P&L accountability, focusing on achieving profitable and balanced growth. This involves implementing regional strategy, adapting commercial execution to market needs, developing the portfolio, and engaging deeply with customers and clinicians, all in alignment with global MDS priorities. The role is a key contributor to the META Leadership Team, collaborating with global MDS leadership to achieve regional and enterprise objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and executing the MDS strategy for the META region, aligning with global and corporate priorities.
  • Developing and owning the three-year strategic, operational, and financial plan.
  • Identifying and leveraging market opportunities across the MDS portfolio.
  • Formulating regional portfolio, market access, and clinical strategies based on market intelligence and healthcare system dynamics.
  • Managing full P&L performance, including revenue, gross margin, and operating income before tax (OIBT).
  • Ensuring delivery of annual operating plan commitments with accurate forecasting and financial discipline.
  • Driving pricing governance, portfolio mix optimization, and margin expansion.
  • Defining and optimizing Go-To-Market models across countries, channels, and customer segments.
  • Leading new product launches, adoption, and lifecycle management in coordination with Global MDS teams.
  • Building and maintaining executive-level relationships with key customers, clinicians, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and strategic partners.
  • Collaborating with global teams in R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Medical Affairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with BD quality systems, regulatory requirements, and business conduct standards.
  • Driving operational rigor, performance management, and continuous improvement across the region.
  • Building, leading, and developing a high-performing regional MDS leadership team.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusion, and customer focus.
  • Developing succession plans and leadership pipelines for critical MDS roles.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proficient Arabic language skills are mandatory.
  • Extensive senior leadership experience within the medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences industries.
  • A proven track record of P&L ownership and driving profitable growth across multi-country regions.
  • Experience operating effectively within matrixed, global organizations.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead transformation, portfolio growth, and change in regulated healthcare environments.
