Role Overview

VEOLIA is seeking an Officer-EHS-KSA to join the team in Tabuk. This full-time role requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards across construction, operation, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily site activities to identify and report unsafe conditions, acts, or potential hazards.
  • Conduct routine site checks to ensure good housekeeping, welfare facilities, and safe working conditions.
  • Provide on-the-spot coaching and corrective guidance regarding employee safety behavior.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions on job-specific hazards, controls, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Deliver EHS induction for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors, covering site hazards, emergency plans, and Veolia Life Saving Rules (LSR).
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and updating Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Environmental Aspects & Impacts Registers.
  • Coordinate the preparation and issuance of Permits to Work (PTW) for high-risk activities, ensuring compliance and communication.
  • Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) with work teams.
  • Perform routine inspections of sites, facilities, equipment, and machinery to verify EHS compliance.
  • Ensure all machines and tools are inspected before daily work, checking for valid color coding, inspection tags, certificates, and operator licenses.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of emergency equipment, reporting findings and following up until closure.
  • Participate in internal and external EHS audits as directed by the EHS Manager.
  • Ensure strict implementation and compliance with all Veolia Life Saving Rules and High Risk Management Standards (HRMS).
  • Verify that only trained, competent, and authorized personnel perform high-risk tasks.
  • Coordinate the issuance, inspection, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring proper usage and compliance.
  • Support emergency response activities and assist in conducting emergency drills.
  • Conduct EHS induction for subcontractors and monitor their compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental management requirements, including waste segregation, storage, and disposal.
  • Maintain and safeguard all EHS documentation, including Risk Assessments, Work Permits, and Incident Reports.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly EHS reports to the Project Manager and QHSE Department.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and provide first-level guidance and coaching on safety procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to comply with applicable ethics and legislation referred to in the Veolia Code of Conduct policy, particularly regarding anti-corruption.
  • Understanding and application of QHSE Policies and standards/requirements/procedures.
  • Capability to liaise with internal or external interested parties during QHSE audits/inspections.
  • Proficiency in ensuring work activities are controlled with QHSE procedures, risk assessments (or LMRA), and valid work permits.
  • Commitment to implementing customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Ability to report incidents (near misses, unsafe conditions, unsafe actions, etc.).
  • Skill in maintaining documented information as evidence of compliance with the QHSE Management System.
