About the Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Sustainability for Six Senses Southern Dunes The Red Sea in Tabuk, specifically in Umluj. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and involves safeguarding the core pillars of Sustainability, Wellness, and Out of the Ordinary experiences within the hotel's operations.

Role Purpose and Vision

The Director of Sustainability will ensure the hotel's operations align with the Six Senses vision of reconnecting individuals with themselves, others, and the world. This includes upholding values such as local sensitivity, global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring practices, fun and quirky elements, and pioneering wellness. The role is central to the strategic planning and development of sustainability initiatives, ensuring their implementation and adoption across the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing compliance with Sustainability Guidelines and execute the approved resort-specific Sustainability Action Plan.
• Coordinate all Sustainability programs and related training with Human Resources and relevant departments.
• Maximize the potential of each Sustainability initiative for both hosts and guests.
• Manage the Sustainability Fund monthly, ensuring effective and transparent collection and distribution, with proper documentation of supported projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key community organizations, local government, and tourism associations.
• Engage with the local community through Sustainability Fund projects and educational activities.
• Develop and lead monthly sustainable host events that foster a culture of sustainability among the team.
• Connect the hotel with globally recognized sustainability events and initiatives, such as Earth Day and World Ocean’s Day.
• Manage existing sustainability partnerships and identify opportunities for new collaborations.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships for Sustainability Fund support and in-kind contributions from Six Senses hosts.
• Collaborate with the Experiences team to develop guest experiences highlighting the hotel’s sustainability efforts, local culture, and environment.
• Implement suitable sustainability practices in line with Six Senses policies.
• Achieve pre-established financial returns related to revenue generation, profitability, and ROIC.
• Ensure property operations comply with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements, including reporting, contractual obligations, safety protocols, and budgetary controls.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates for the Director of Sustainability position must possess the following:

• Required qualifications and technical skills relevant to the role.
• Proven experience in a similar role within luxury hotels.
• Demonstrated results in sustainability initiatives and management.
