About the Role

Le Meridien is seeking an Executive Housekeeper I to manage the daily shift operations for Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry services, where applicable. This full-time role involves directing staff to ensure guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are consistently clean and well-maintained. The Executive Housekeeper I will conduct inspections, ensure accountability for corrective actions, and contribute to guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget. This position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Housekeeping Operations Management

  • Ensure timely and efficient communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering department on guestroom maintenance needs.
  • Supervise the property's general cleaning schedule.
  • Prepare work assignments based on lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prospective check-outs.
  • Conduct stock inventories to ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Oversee daily Housekeeping shift operations, ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist in ordering guestroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
  • Support and supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Communicate areas requiring attention to staff and follow up to ensure understanding.
  • Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.

Departmental Cost Management

  • Participate in managing the department’s controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Understand the impact of departmental operations on overall property financial goals and objectives.
  • Utilize budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed for financial management.

Ensuring Guest Satisfaction

  • Respond to and resolve guest problems and complaints effectively.
  • Work to continuously improve service performance.
  • Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

Human Resources Activities

  • Participate as needed in the investigation of employee accidents.
  • Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
  • Ensure employees understand expectations and operational parameters.
  • Administer property policies fairly and consistently, ensuring disciplinary procedures and documentation comply with Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide constructive feedback.
  • Utilize available on-the-job training tools for new room attendants and provide follow-up training as necessary.
  • Participate in the employee performance appraisal process, offering feedback as required.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring employee team members with appropriate skills.
  • Support a departmental orientation program to ensure employees receive appropriate new hire training.
  • Participate in employee progressive discipline procedures.
