About the Role

Unilever is seeking a Machine Operator to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to manufacturing operations, focusing on the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery. The Machine Operator ensures high-quality product output, smooth and efficient machine performance, and adherence to maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety, health, and quality regulations.
• Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to the supervisor.
• Set up machinery for operation, then start and adjust it as necessary to improve performance.
• Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery.
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Inspect parts using precision and measuring tools.
• Fix issues that may occur during the shift.
• Check output to identify any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products, and maintain activity logs.
• Compound or process ingredients or dyes according to formulas.
• Read work orders to determine production specifications or information.
• Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Mix or blend ingredients by starting machines and mixing for specified times.
• Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment.
• Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry, specifically in deodorant production.
• Previous proven machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Must be detail-oriented.
• Understanding of production and plant processes.
• Analytical and numerical skills, including the ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Ability to use digital applications and good command of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use SCADA systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Good communication skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires a willingness to work in shifts. Candidates must have the ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time as part of daily operations.
