About the Role: Automation Engineer

GulfNet Solutions Company is seeking an Automation Engineer to join its team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role involves providing technical support for controls and automation, managing projects from concept to closeout, and executing large assignments. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute medium to high-level control systems projects in support of site testing and commissioning.
• Adhere to engineering standards, project management guidance, and business tools, utilizing a systematic approach to project execution.
• Conduct site surveys, perform operation & maintenance, and troubleshoot ongoing projects.
• Assign tasks to supervisors and technicians for the integration of field instruments and equipment.
• Develop IO lists, ILDs, FAT, and SAT documents.
• Develop and update instrument loop diagrams, PFDs, PIDs, ILDs, and Data Sheets.
• Develop mapping and panel designs for PLCs and RTUs for project engineers/supervisors for fabrication and field termination.
• Develop engineering design scopes and packages.
• Review and comment on project design documents for instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level, analytical field analyzer, etc.), control valves, MOVs, PCVs, and FCVs.
• Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of wiring, cabling, and grounding systems in accordance with company and international standards.

Technical Support and Development

• Provide moderate to high-level technical assistance to site operating groups through investigations, control system assessments, and design support.
• Develop engineering solutions using in-house tools, suppliers, and partners' solutions.
• Define moderate to complex process control systems requirements on projects, including participating in the creation of appropriate documentation (Software Test Plans, User Requirements, System Design Specification document, SAT, O&M documents).
• Diagnose technical issues and provide recommendations/solutions for corrective actions.
• Program PLC, HMI, RTUs, and DCS applications for automated process equipment.
• Lead technical discussions/communication with customers during the FAT of PLC or IFAT of equipment.
• Provide new tools/software to support new PLC/RTUs products.
• Support all R&D for new solutions and products, and document success stories.
• Support the presales team for pilot projects for clients to demonstrate solutions.
• Conduct training for customers upon request as part of project execution scope.

Customer Satisfaction and Reporting

• Plan all actions and follow up on the quality of execution contract deliveries, customer inspections, and target deliveries.
• Develop all necessary documents for the follow-up of projects/site activities, including site survey, testing, commissioning, and FAT & SAT reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in controls/automation technical support and project execution.
• Knowledge of international standards and best practices in automation and control systems.
